Wind Ensemble and Instrumental Groups
Grace Covenant is blessed with all kinds of musical gifts, and they’re expressed on all kinds of instruments. Each of these ensembles share in worship, and rehearse as scheduled by their directors, and they are intergenerational. It is always a highlight in worship when any of these ensembles play in worship or at other events.
GCPC Wind Ensemble
GCPC Wind Ensemble is open to 8th grade – adult instrumentalists. They are directed by Pam Kelly as scheduled. Pam is the daughter of well-known instrumental composer, Claude T. Smith. She draws on her rich heritage and immense abilities as she conducts the Wind Ensemble.
Chancel Brass
Chancel Brass is an ensemble of advanced players. Their membership is by invitation, and they are directed by the Director of Music Ministries.
Clarinet Quartet and GCPC Dixieland Band
The Clarinet Quartet and GCPC Dixieland Band are also ensembles of advanced players. Their membership is by invitation and they are directed by Bob Dover. Bob is the clarinet section co-principal and charter member of The Kansas City Wind Symphony.
GCPC Dixieland Band
GCPC Dixieland Band is also an ensemble of advanced players. They play as scheduled by the director. Their membership is by invitation, and they are directed by Bob Dover. Bob is the clarinet section co-principal and charter member of The Kansas City Wind Symphony.
Grace Mountain Band
As a Bluegrass and Gospel, they are made up of players who play ukeleles, fiddles, mandolin, dulcimer, vocalists, and more. Christopher Callender directs this group. They play as scheduled by their director.
