Vocal Choirs
The GCPC Music Ministry touches every single member of our church family. Whether we sing from the choir loft, ring from a table or sing in the most important choir of all—the one sitting in the pews–all of us are transformed and lifted to God in sacred sound.Chancel & Exaltation! Singers
Chancel and Exaltation! Singers are led by the Director of Music Ministries and is made up of youth to adult singers. Chancel & Ex! sing a wide variety of styles, (e.g. standard to newly written church anthems, traditional spirituals, classical choral literature, and some gospel and jazz thrown in the mix from time to time.) While it is music and worship that brings us together, Chancel & Ex! is much more than that. They are also a community of singers who love and care for one another. They rehearse on Wednesdays from 7:05-8:30pm. from the Wednesday before Labor Day. to the Wednesday before Memorial Day in Room 6/Choir Room, sing additionally over the summer, and share major presentations during Advent and Holy Week.
Celebration! Choir & Chimes
Celebration! Choir & Chimes is a choir of 2nd-5th/6th grade students who meet in Room 15 at the beginning of the Sunday School hour from 10:45-11:05am. Celebration! is led by Pam Kelly, director – Angela Krug, accompanist – and Katie Hearn & Keith Langabee, assistant directors. A main goal for music in the church for children is to guide each of them to learn to make beautiful sounds and read music in order to enter more fully into worship for a lifetime!
Joy! Singers
Joy! Singers is a choir for our children, ages 4s-1st graders. We meet at the beginning of the Sunday School hour from 10:45-11:05am in Room 26. Joy! Singers are co-directed by Emily Hussey & Hilary Schmidt. With simple melodies, familiar lyrics, motions, and rhythm instruments, kids have a great first experience with music at GCPC.
