Orchestra/Instrumental

Grace Covenant is blessed with all kinds of musical gifts and they’re expressed on all kinds of instruments. Each of these ensembles share in worship and rehearse as scheduled by their directors and they are intergenerational. It is always a highlight in worship when any of these ensembles play in worship or at other events.

GCPC Orchestra

GCPC Orchestra is open to 8th grade – adult instrumentalists. They are directed by Pam Kelly as scheduled. Pam is the daughter of well-known instrumental composer, Claude T. Smith. She draws on her rich heritage and immense abilities as she conducts the orchestra.

Chancel Brass

Chancel Brass is an ensemble of advanced players. Their membership is by invitation and they are directed by Rebecca Prater, Director of Music Ministries.

Clarinet Quartet and GCPC Dixieland Band

The Clarinet Quartet and GCPC Dixieland Band are also ensembles of advanced players. Their membership is by invitation and they are directed by Bob Dover. Bob is the clarinet section co-principal and charter member of The Kansas City Wind Symphony.

Youth Band

Youth Band is for 6th–12th graders who sing, play keyboard, guitar, or drums. Their rehearsal schedule is TBA. If interested in joining this group, contact Miles McDonald or Christopher Callender. Miles plays a mean alto or tenor sax and Christopher plays guitar, bass guitar, banjo, ukulele, and just about any other similarly stringed instrument. Donna Goeckler also helps lead this group and she has the vocal chords to prove it! Amazing!
